The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Join us for a discussion of this fascinating non-fiction book about Henrietta Lacks, a poor Southern tobacco farmer whose legacy lives on today through cells taken from her unknowingly.  These cells were used by doctors and scientists to develop vaccines and to aid in many important health discoveries.

Discussion will take place on July 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the First Amendment Room in Eldridge.

Dear Sarah,

I'm an author with a new collection of short stories, Ugly To Start With (West Virginia University Press).

Will you please consider reviewing it?

I've been writing and publishing for twenty years--more than one hundred stories and two novels--and Ugly To Start With is my best work.

If you write me back at johnmcummings@aol.com, I'll send you a PDF of my collection for consideration.

Thank you so much.
